What the studio does for a keyboard, a screen reader and a request for less motion, and where it still falls short.

What standard do you aim for?

WCAG 2.2 at level AA. Every colour pair on the site is measured against its contrast floor each time the code is tested, and each release is checked with an automated audit before it goes live. Automated checks catch only part of what matters, so tell us what they miss.

Can I make a print without seeing the plate?

Yes. The plate is described in words that come from measurement: the number of colours found and each one's share of the drawing, the drawing's size in pixels, the largest size it prints sharp, and how many pixels the lift left out. The status line reads each step of the lift aloud as it happens. The red pencil always has words beside it: the count of pixels the lift left out.

Can I use the studio with a keyboard or a screen reader?

Every control is a native form control with a label: the file and camera inputs, the colour and lift sliders, the sheet, ground and print choices, the name and age, the size and the country. Turn It Over is a button that says whether the note is showing, and the note's links can be reached only while it is.

Does anything move?

Once, as the drawing lifts, a line sweeps across the plate, and the plate turns over when you ask to see the note. If your device asks for reduced motion, both are gone and every state appears at once.

Where does it still fall short?

The description of a drawing comes from measurement, not from looking: the studio can say how much of the drawing is red, never that the red is a house, because no model of any kind looks at it. The camera depends on your device, and on some phones the file input opens the photo library instead.

How do I tell you something doesn't work?

Write to support@painted.app with the page and what went wrong. We'll answer, and if the fault is ours we'll fix it and tell you when it's done.
